FAITH PROMISE
FIRST METHODIST CHURCH

Romans 10:14-15
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Read about the Missions we support

From our local missions to those around the world, the First Methodist Church of Hartselle is committed to spreading the Word of God to every corner of the globe.

Far East Broadcasting Company  Cambodia

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
Our church supports David and Vicki Creel with the Far East Broadcasting Co (FEBC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  The mission of FEBC is to provide the Good News of salvation to people throughout Phnom Penh and outlying provinces through their radio/media ministry.  In addition to all their efforts to maintain facilities for broadcasting the Good News, the Creels visit regularly with their listeners to get to know them and hear their joys and concerns.  After one of these visits Vicki said, “It was a joy to meet listeners in five villages in the area.  … They said that they had listened for a long time. … It was inspiring to me to see their enthusiasm for studying the Bible.”

Moses Home of Hope - Thailand

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”              Matthew 25:40
Our church, through your giving to Faith Promise, supports this ministry which is part of a global charitable organization providing hope and a future to victims and potential victims of human trafficking and religious persecution in Southeast Asia.
Moses graduated from Bible school and returned to Thailand to minister among his fellow Red Lahu tribesmen, refugees from Myanmar where they had faced harsh persecution.
Adults were slow to accept the Gospel, but the children responded. Moses recognized his calling to take in and raise Lahu orphans.  Today, this home provides loving care in a family environment to 50 boys and girls who were once victims of abuse or exploitation.  The children are nurtured physically, emotionally, socially, vocationally, educationally, and spiritually.

Voice of Liberty – Costa Rica

“ … He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, …”  Isaiah 61:1
Our church supports Carlos and Karla Cunningham with Voice of Liberty in Costa Rica.  Voice of Liberty has many facets to their ministry. They lead Kairos weekends in the prisons in their area, taking Kairos into both the general population prisons and APAC. APAC, another ministry of Voice of Liberty, is a government approved, faith-based prison ministry providing counseling, Celebrate Recovery, job training, college course work, and facilities where prisoners work on crafts that their families can sell for income. It is evident that God is at work in the lives of the prisoners as very few APAC "graduates" return to crime.
In 2025 the Cunninghams hosted Despertar Dos (Discovery Two) in their church. Our church provided supplies from our Discovery, prayer journals translated into Spanish, and shirts for the participants and volunteers. We were blessed to support them, and share in the weekend that has been so special to our church.

Big Oak Ranch – Springville AL

“A Christian home for children needing a chance. Jesus is our message. Children are our heart.”
Our church, through your giving to Faith Promise, supports Big Oak Ranch in their mission to provide Christian homes for children, boys and girls, needing a chance. This mission is deeply rooted in the four promises they make to every child who calls Big Oak Ranch home.  Those four promises are that the children will find love and emotional support, truth and honesty, security and discipline, and most importantly, they will find hope and the chance to discover God’s true purpose for their lives.
There are millions of children across the country in need of intervention. The financial support of our church helps Big Oak Ranch build homes, educate children, form partnerships, and reach more young people in desperate need of a home, hope and a chance.

The Christmas Shoe Box ministry shares the Love of Christ to children in Central America and the Caribbean. During 2024 the Disaster Relief Warehouse shipped Christmas Shoe Boxes and school supplies and to Missionaries in four countries.
One of their most important ministries is hosting volunteer groups who come from Hartselle and all over the Southeast to work at the warehouse. Allegro Solutions – SE Asia

“This upcoming year we believe that God is going to bring a great harvest!  We feel excited about the people we are co-laboring with and the vision they have for this upcoming year.”

The missionaries we support, Preston and Hali L., are currently involved in several projects in India, which has a Christian population of less than 5%, leaving millions of people on track to be separated from Christ forever.  They are members of a larger team focused on getting the Gospel to the local people in a way that will bear lasting and multiplying fruit.  Their team is doing this by being actively involved in training local leaders, starting house churches, and distributing Bibles.

Heart of Christ Justice Project
Honduras

“An innate and inspired sense of injustice connects us and compels us to respond to God's heart for justice and to His call for lives of love and justice from every one of us.”
Our church, through your giving to Faith Promise, supports this ministry which is headed by Gracie and Lee Murphree, from our church. Their mission has been focused on Biblical Justice Ministry since 2005:  This is so important because Honduras remains one of the most violent countries in Latin America. This ministry focuses on rescuing women, children, elderly, and the disabled from violence; caring for them, and working to restore their lives.  Additionally, Gracie and Lee provide training for community leaders and authorities, pastors, missionaries, and churches, as well as parents and children on how to prevent and intervene in violent situations, and how to effectively serve God in their communities.
