Welcome to United Youth Ministries!
My name is Shannon Booth, and I am the youth minister here at Hartselle FUMC. I am a wife to Mason and mom to Meb (Mary Elizabeth), Will, and Olivia. I am a graduate of Huntingdon College and Asbury Theological Seminary. I have been involved in youth ministry since 1994, and I enjoy learning about walking with Jesus alongside teenagers. Their perspective and questions will keep you on your toes!
The youth ministry at Hartselle FUMC is focused on relationships, worship, and service. We have a weekend on-site retreat in February called Discovery. Senior high students lead the weekend for the Junior Highs. It is a very meaningful experience that is one highlight of our year.
We are also a church and youth group that makes service to others a priority. We have frequent local service projects, and we take mission trips during the summer. We have taken trips all over the U.S., from Texas to North Carolina to Central Florida to Mississippi, and we have a goal to take a group on an international mission trip as soon as it is feasible.
We do not have traditional Sunday school right now, but we do have small groups meeting on Sunday evenings. Contact me for current information for the different age groups.
We are currently worshiping on Wednesday evenings at the Tabernacle. We are enjoying the open-air worship in one of our favorite spaces. We meet at 6:30 to hang out and have some fun. Feel free to bring a sack supper or fast food if you'd like. We are lining up some great speakers for worship.
I'd love to answer any questions you have about our church or our youth ministry. All are welcome.
